We say

Evoking images of Carnaby Street back in the mid-1960s at the height of Swinging London, this ridiculously cool track from Hidden Charms feels like a lost nugget from a five decade-old time capsule has been unearthed, ready to thrill us again with its urgency and swagger. Imagine a young Steve Winwood back in his days with Spencer Davis Group accompanied instead by Booker T & The MG's with Lalo Schifrin arranging it all and, providing you get the references, you'll understand just how exciting a find this is. Produced by Kevin Augunas and Nick Waterhouse at the legendary Sound City Studios, it's released as a free download, with an album being prepped for next year. Danielle Perry has given the track its first exclusive play on Xfm's Evening Show this week, there's a Daytrotter live session confirmed for today (September 5) and watch out for forthcoming features on the band in Loaded and as part of Tatler's November Mod/60s special. We also hear now that Shel Talmy, legendary producer of The Kinks and The Who, wants to work with the band. Catch them live next week across the UK supporting Benjamin Booker, then later in the month as main support to July Talk, taking in a gig at Birthdays in Dalston on September 26 before they return to the capital on October 3 at The Macbeth as part of This Feeling Clubnight show. Clocking in at just over two minutes long, so it never outstays its welcome, this is spunky and funky blues-infused rock for a whole new generation.
