Places We've Roamed

We say

Dancing Years hail from Leeds and have created this beautifully introspective piano-led track, which sounds like the perfect amalgam of Jeff Buckley blended with The Blue Nile at their very best. Inspired by long night-time drives whilst staying with friends in Sweden, it's sung with pure joyful heartfelt emotion by David Henshaw, as he reminisces about good times spent with the love of his life in the Lake District, filled with hope that those treasured moments can now be forever. Online support to date has included The Line of Best Fit, When the Gramophone Rings and For Folks Sake and their previous single saw Steve Lamacq, Mary Anne Hobbs and Jen Long all showing love and support at radio. The band sold-out their most recent London date and had The Guardian's Mark Beaumont enthusing after their Camden Crawl show saying they "destroyed a sweltering Good Mixer with cataclysmic folk". They return to the capital on July 7 to launch the single at the Roundhouse Studio. They've played with the likes of Dry The River and Benjamin Francis Leftwich in the past, have just finished supporting George Ezra on his UK tour and are back gigging with Boy & Bear this autumn, taking in London's Shepherd’s Bush Empire on November 14. Uplifting, inspiring and set to make you feel all warm inside, we'd quite happily listen to this on a loop for several hours on end most early mornings and late evenings for the rest of the summer.
