Every once in a while, a debut single comes to our attention from a totally unknown artist and simply floors you. That's absolutely been the case with this astonishing track from Elin Bell, released this weekend in Scandinavia. She's a singer songwriter from Norrköping, just south of Stockholm in Sweden. After meeting producer Andreas Dahlbäck and partnered up with him on this project, he brought in Markus Jägerstedt (famed for his work with Robyn amongst others) and they produced the album together. That's set for release in January 2015. This poignant track came about after she lost a couple of family members in a short space of time. Her emotional feelings literally pour out into the lyrics and the plaintive piano-led arrangement and production just works so perfectly with the story of grief she tells. Imagine how magical this would sound if we could coax her to the UK sometime soon to play some live dates. In the meantime, you're unlikely to hear any other song in 2014 of this calibre quite so pure, honest, raw and emotional. Simply outstanding.
