We say

It used to be that folk inflections suggested back-room intimacy more than arena-filling, expansive production, but unsigned Buckinghamshire quintet Amber - first featured in the Compass column of the RotD magazine last month - bring elements of both to their forthcoming Noah EP, released July 22 through AWAL. Formed at Nottingham university, the band was still in its infancy when their cover of Imogen Heap's Hide & Seek first garnered attention late last year, but it's the maturity of all four tracks on this EP, despite Amber's oldest member being just 20 years old, that stands out here. Online love stretches from Line of Best Fit to Harpers Bazaar, Huw Stephens has picked Noah as his BBC Introducing Tip of the Week, giving Amber their first taste of national airplay on Wednesday night, and the track is currently sitting on the Amazing Radio B-list. A slickly produced video supported by VEVO (unusually for an unsigned act) has attracted 35k views in a week. Feels like Amber are sitting in exactly the same place Kodaline or Bastille were a year ago.
