VEVO APPOINTS JON CARVILL VP, COMMUNICATIONS

Vevo has named Jon Carvill Vice President, Communications. Effective immediately, Jon is responsible for leading all of Vevo’s Public Relations and Corporate Communications efforts. He will be based in the company’s San Francisco office and report to President and Chief Executive Officer, Erik Huggers.

Most recently, Jon was the Senior Director of Public Relations at Qualcomm, responsible for the company’s worldwide product and technology communications in the mobile and wireless industry.  Prior to Qualcomm, Jon was Director of Corporate Communications at Intel where he spearheaded PR, events and social media efforts for OnCue, the company’s ambitious web TV efforts that were acquired by Verizon Communications.  While at Intel, Jon also held key leadership positions in corporate and financial communications as well as competitive response. 

Previously, Jon was the Vice President of Corporate Communications at Globalfoundries, a multi-billion dollar joint-venture start-up between AMD and Abu-Dhabi-based Mubadala Development Corporation.  Jon began his career at AMD and ATI where he held multiple roles in consumer and corporate Public Relations focused on the PC and console gaming markets.

Jon holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Royal Roads University in Victoria, British Columbia as well as an honors diploma in Public Relations from Algonquin College in Ottawa, Ontario.
