UNIVERSAL MUSIC GREATER CHINA APPOINTS ANDREW CHAN AS NEW SVP, DIGITAL & STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT



Universal Music has named Andrew Chan to the new position of Senior Vice President of Digital & Strategic Development, for the Greater China region.

Since joining Universal Music in 2009, Andrew has made enormous contributions to China’s digital music business. He led the One Stop China joint venture in 2011, which laid the foundation for China’s biggest search engine portal to switch to licensed music distribution. Since then, he has been at the forefront of allying music labels with digital service providers to pave the way for paid music services.

Rob Wells, President, Global Digital Business said, “Andrew’s prowess in the region’s digital space is exceptional and we look forward to seeing exciting developments take shape.”

In his new role, Andrew will continue to lead the Greater China Digital team with additional responsibilities of Strategic Business Development to originate special projects in China.
