Spotify gets Equalizer upgrade

Spotify now lets you enjoy music audio the way you want to hear it with the launch of our in-app equalizer, rolling out as part of our latest iOS update for the iPhone and iPad.

Spotify’s new Equalizer feature offers a total of 22 audio presets, including Electronic, Hip Hop, Acoustic, Classical, Small Speakers and Loudness. Users can also manually define their own equalizer settings within the app.

Simply update the latest version of the Spotify iOS app and go to Settings > Playback > Equalizer to access the new feature.

“A lot of our users have been asking for a built-in equalizer for a while now and it’s currently one of our most requested features on iOS,” says Sten Garmark, Vice President Product at Spotify.

He adds: “The Equalizer lets you adjust your audio settings based on the type of music you’re listening to, or the device you’re listening on, be that small speakers or portable headphones. Now you have even more control of your music.”

This latest feature follows a raft of recent mobile upgrades including playlist sorting and filtering, controlling Play Queue and offline search. The Discover feature has also been moved into the Browse tab for even simpler, more powerful music discovery.

The upgrade will roll out to all iOS users today.
