Pink Floyd on Spotify

Last week Pink Floyd released their fifteenth studio album, The Endless River, which has already become one of the biggest hits of the year on Spotify.

The story of Pink Floyd’s success on Spotify, and some Echo Nest insights around their catalogue are laid out in the Spotify Insights blog. Further highlights of the success of the album are as below:

- Spotify users have streamed The Endless River over 12 million times worldwide in its first week
- The Endless River is number one on the Official UK Album Chart, with over 139k* sales in its first week, and the third-best-selling album of the year**.
The Endless River was streamed 3.15 million times in the US alone last week, more than any other album that was released last week.
- Side 3, Pt. 4: Allons-y (1) was the most viral track in the world on Spotify week commencing 10th November, the week of the album’s release
- Over 3 million Spotify playlists feature Pink Floyd songs
-  Pink Floyd skews remarkably young on Spotify globally, with over 60% of its audience under 35, its strongest listening among 18-22 year olds, and 80% of its playlisters under 35. Pink Floyd is reaching a really young audience through Spotify, especially for a band founded nearly 50 years ago.
