PAUL ADAM APPOINTED DIRECTOR OF GLOBAL TALENT & GLOBAL PUBLISHING



Leading music industry figure Paul Adam, has been appointed Director of Global Group’s Talent and Publishing divisions, effective 1st June 2012.
Adam will oversee both the Global Talent and Global Publishing businesses, and will be responsible for growing and developing both sectors. Global Talent already looks after some of the most popular names on music scene in the UK including The Wanted, Cover Drive and Lawson.
Adam joins Global from Mercury Records, where he was initially recruited as Senior A&R Director, and later undertook the role of Managing Director of ‘Vertigo Records’ - an imprint within Mercury. During his 6 years at Mercury, Adam was responsible for signing Platinum selling artists Amy Macdonald and The Noisettes.
Other career highlights include signing Busted and McFly during his five years as Managing Director of Universal’s Island Records, as well as Ian Brown, Sophie Ellis Bexter and Miss Dynamite, while he was General Manager of A&R at Polydor between 1993 and 2001. In 2001, Paul also sat as a judge in the original TV reality talent show Popstars, won by pop group Hear’Say who he later signed to Polydor.

Global Talent also sees Rachel Wood, who joined the company a little over year ago, appointed as Head of Artists. She will oversee day to day operations of recording artists and talent.
