Kilimanjaro Live - update

Stuart Galbraith, CEO of Kilimanjaro Live Ltd, has shared some news on the company’s future direction. Kilimanjaro became an independent company following a management buyout from AEG in the spring of 2012. Despite the current economic downturn the company has had an excellent start to this next phase of its development, working with major established artists such as Robbie Williams, The Rolling Stones, Andrea Bocelli, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Donny & Marie Osmond, as well as seeing investment in developing artists begin to bear fruit with the likes of Bastille and The 1975.The company is now looking at diversifying the forms of entertainment that they work with and are currently on sale with a multi-theatre show with The Illusionists and an arena run for Nitro Circus, both in the autumn of 2013.

To help push the development of the company, Kilimanjaro have announced that they have brought in a comedy specialist, Andy Townsend, formerly GM of PIAS Comedy UK to work alongside their promoting team. Kilimanjaro have had successful shows in the past few months with Louis CK selling out both the O2 Arena and two shows at Hammersmith Apollo and Trailer Park Boys and prior to that with Jerry Seinfeld and David Sedaris. Andy will focus on offering a fresh and independent alternative for UK and international comedy talent and build on the comedy portfolio already in existence and also develop a literary and spoken work portfolio.

Forthcoming comedy shows already announced include Aziz Ansari at Hammersmith Apollo June 15th, shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with Chris Stokes, Michael J Dolan and Dan Nightingale (co-productions with Gag Reflex Management) plus American comedic author David Sedaris playing seven nights at Edinburgh International Conference Centre also as part of Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Additionally it is announced that Steve Tilley, who has been with Kilimanjaro since 2008, has become a Director and minority share-holder in the company. Steve has been instrumental in the success of Kilimanjaro through the development of new acts such as Ed Sheeran, Band Of Skulls, Example and also as the booker of Wakestock and Belladrum Festivals as well as diversifying into comedy with David Sedaris. Steve has had a very successful period professionally and Kilimanjaro will now benefit from his dedication and experience across the whole company.
