COOKING VINYL AUSTRALIA CELEBRATE FIRST NUMBER ONE

Parkway Drive’s ‘Ire’ Tops Australian Album Charts

‘Ire’ delivers the biggest first week sales of 2015 for any domestic artist.

Cooking Vinyl Australia, the Australasian division of The Cooking Vinyl Group, is celebrating its first number one this week with the new Parkway Drive album ‘Ire’.

Released on September 25th via acclaimed Australian label Resist Records, all aspects of the ‘Ire’ campaign including distribution, marketing, publicity and radio promotion were handled exclusively by Cooking Vinyl in Australia and New Zealand.

‘Ire’ delivers the biggest first week sales of 2015 for any domestic artist.

Established in early 2013 by former Shock Records staffers Leigh Gruppetta and Stu Harvey, Cooking Vinyl Australia signs both local and international artists in addition to representing the wider Cooking Vinyl Records roster. 100% independent it also provides project management services to a number of renowned local and international labels including BMG Rights, Dine Alone, Razor & Tie, Resist, Run For Cover, SideOneDummy and Thirty Tigers among others.

Formed in 2003 Parkway Drive is an Australian band from Byron Bay in New South Wales. ‘Ire’ is their 5th full-length album, with the previous 4 all achieving Gold sales in Australia.

Stu Harvey of Cooking Vinyl Australia said, “To have a number one record within two years of launching a new business is a fantastic achievement and a testament to the hard work of all our team here at Cooking Vinyl Australia. Leigh and I have worked with Resist and Parkway Drive for many years now and are extremely proud of our relationship and the trust they afford us. We hope to share many more successes with them moving forward.”

Martin Goldschmidt, founder of The Cooking Vinyl Group said, “The team at Cooking Vinyl Australia have done an amazing job since they started in 2013. This number one record with Parkway Drive, the third highest selling of the year in Australia and the first by a domestic artist, is testament to how much they have achieved in such a short space of time to become one of the leading independent music companies in Australia. We are very proud of them.”
