BPI AGM set for 1 September 2014



Culture Secretary Sajid Javid and BBC's Bob Shennan confirmed to speak

The BPI's Annual General Meeting and Annual Conference for Members will take place on Monday, 1st September 2014 at theME London Hotel, 336 The Strand, London WC2.

 The AGM, which will see Tony Wadsworth, CBE give his last address as BPI Chairman before he steps down from the role later this year, will feature keynote speeches from Sajid Javid, Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport and Minister for Equalities, and

Bob Shennan, the BBC’s Director of Music. There will also be a Music Week Q&A interview with BPI Chief Executive Geoff Taylor.

The morning ACM will include a panel discussion that will focus on sources of funding for labels, including advice on how to apply for finance from the Music Export Growth Scheme and from the PRS for Music Foundation’s International Showcase and Momentum Funds.  There will also be a short presentation from Help Musicians UK: Emerging Excellence Awards.    

Member registration for the event on the day will start at 10.30am, with the ACM commencing at 11.00am. The main AGM part of the day will take place in the afternoon, after lunch. Full details of the day’s programme and the BPI Council election process will be made available to members.
