Anastacia chooses BMG to RELEASE NEXT TWO ALBUMS

Berlin, 17 September 2012 - Multi-million selling US singer Anastacia will release her next two albums through BMG using the company’s innovative new revenue-sharing model.

The first release under the deal will be It’s a Man’s World, produced by legendary producer-writer Glen Ballard, comprising Anastacia’s unique take on a collection of classic male rock songs, and utilising her powerful voice to advantage.

The tracklisting includes an eclectic and powerful line-up of songs including ‘Best Of You’ (Foo Fighters), ‘Ramble On’ (Led Zeppelin) and ‘Dream On’ (Aerosmith).

It will be released by BMG on 9 November 2012 in GSA and Benelux under the company’s much-talked-about masters model which aims to give artists a much larger share of revenues than a traditional record deal.

Distribution will be through a range of partners in different territories, with Rough Trade handling the release in Germany.

Following the completion of the It’s A Man’s World project, Anastacia will return to the studio to record a brand new album of original material also to be released in partnership with BMG.

It’s A Man’s World marks the latest career development for an artist whose career sales total now exceeds over 20m albums.

Anastacia’s debut album Not That Kind sold over five million copies worldwide. With songs including ‘I’m Outta Love’ and ‘Not That Kind’, it instantly became a bestseller and made Anastacia an international superstar.

Freak Of Nature, Anastacia’s second album release in 2001, sold over 4.5 million units, going multi platinum in more than 14 countries, with over one million albums sold in Germany alone. Her third self-titled album, Anastacia, which includes the hits ‘Sick And Tired’ and ‘Left Outside Alone’, became one of 2004’s best-selling international LPs.

In Europe alone, Anastacia has career sales of more than four million albums in the UK, three million in Germany, 1.4 million in Italy and 1.2 million in France. She has received in excess of 225 Gold, Platinum or Multi-Platinum awards in 31 countries across her career.

With a hugely successful touring career, this month Anastacia heads out on the road for the Night of the Proms European tour kicking off in Stockholm on September 27 backed by a full 67 piece orchestra.

BMG Managing Director of European Repertoire Fred Casimir said, “Anastacia is an international superstar with a huge appeal, particularly in Europe. We are very pleased that she has chosen to release her next two albums in partnership with BMG.”

Anastacia’s manager Craig Logan, said, “We’re delighted to partner with BMG. For artists like Anastacia with a strong sense of who they are and where they’re going, the BMG model is really interesting, because it gives you more control and real transparency.”
