VÉRITÉ
Strange Enough

unsigned

WE SAY

Currently unsigned and without a publishing deal, we suspect that's all about to change very quickly for New York-based VÉRITÉ with this accomplished single that's set to appear on her debut EP later this year. Production comes from Elliot Jacobson and hip tastemaker sites worldwide were on fire in the past fortnight when the track first appeared, with favourable comparisons being made to the likes Lana Del Rey and Ellie Goulding. She rapidly became Hype Machine's No.1 most-blogged act for an entire week and prompted The Line Of Best Fit to declare her as a 'rising pop star ready to make her mark'. Lyrically the track tells an emotional and soul-searching story of a relationship in all its brutally honest, almost confessional detail. Sonically, it reminds us of another great unsigned act Emilie Nicolas, who we've been championing for several months now. Ethereal on one level but solid and tough on another, as we can all relate ourselves to the emotional dilemma she finds herself in as she sings here. This is a sumptuous start to a very bright future for her.
