WE SAY
The Burns Unit's debut album Side Show is picking up excellent reviews in the national press recently with The Sunday Times, Independent, Times and Guardian, among others, all praising the collective. Made up of doyens of the Scottish indie/folk scene such as King Creosote, Karine Polwart, Emma Pollock and Future Pilot AKA, The Burns Unit make for a remarkable ensemble. From heartbreaking duets like 'Since We've Fallen Out' to the rousing and frenetic Send Them Kids To War (both available to listen to on their website), it's an enthralling blend of styles, underpinned by what John Aizlewood of The Evening Standard called 'a worldly lyricism and constantly bewitching songsmithery'. Trouble is the next single, which comes out as they prepare to play a 6Music session with Marc Riley.
