WE SAY

"A wizard, a true star" writes Andy Gill in The Independent, just one of many 5 star album reviews, rave live reviews and big features for Kansas-born Janelle Monáe's The ArchAndroid (Suites II and III). She was the cover star of The Sunday Times Culture magazine last week with the piece inside proclaiming the album to be "as bonkers and as beautiful as Prince at his purple best”. It is quite an irresistible collection of songs, running through genres and ideas that most artists would struggle to cram into a career. Tightrope is Single Of The Week on iTunes UK this week and is B-listed at 6 Music. It’s also enjoying strong support from Gilles Peterson and MistaJam on Radio 1, who made it his Record Of The Week.
