Put The Chain On
WE SAY
It’s 18 months since we last featured Irish four-piece La Galaxie when they were an unsigned act forging a word-of-mouth buzz as one of the finest live bands around. That track was the marvellous Humanise and they continue to deliver the goods on record with the UK and Europe-wide release this week of their album Le Club, which features this latest track and our former Record of the Day too. Signed to Universal Music in Ireland, the album went Top 10 on their chart in May and deservedly so. It’s full of solid synth-based 80’s-influenced dance grooves like this total gem, and has found favour with Phil Taggart at Radio 1 and Lauren Laverne at 6 Music. They've proved their chops across 2015 at Latitude, SXSW, The Great Escape, CMJ, and at a sold out show at Elecrtrowerkz in London last week plus at the Mutations Festival in Brighton. Next weekend they play Transmusicales in Rennes then return to Ireland for a short tour including an outdoor New Year’s Eve show. This track includes a superb remix by Italo disco pioneer Black Devil Disco Club. Three words: they're ridiculously good.
