WE SAY
There’s a simple reason that we’re featuring Jerry Williams for the fourth time in just over a year - the quality of work she is producing is so strong. This from her Cold Beer EP is her most assured song yet, building from a wistful, forlorn vocal at the start into a full-blown adult-orientated acoustic pop gem that’s totally radio-ready, we reckon. The Portsmouth-raised 19-year old has collaborated on this with Jim Duguid, the co-writer of Paolo Nutini’s Last Request and Too Close for Alex Clare. Last night, Jerry was interviewed across the BBC local radio network, and regionally BBC Introducing has been hugely supportive to date. She’s currently featuring in Wonderland magazine’s 10th anniversary issue, has played a session for SBTV, had her videos shown regularly on Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch, bagged a glowing review in the Guardian, and performs live in London with her full band at The Old Queens Head in Islington tomorrow night (November 18). Engaging, fresh, talented, and with bags of personality, we’ll stick with our assertion that a future platinum-selling star is in our midst.
