Late Hawaiian vocalist & ukulele player Israel “IZ” Kamakawiwo’ole's version of Over The Rainbow, taken from his forthcoming Greatest Hits collection has been used in various films, TV shows and commercials - most recently it's in a Lynx commercial here. The track has sold continuously since it first surfaced and has now sold over five million copies globally - we love this recent BBC piece on how the track became a hit in Germany (and boosted sales of ukuleles). The Greatest Hits, which comes out on Decca, will also feature his version of What A Wonderful World. IZ's debut album 'Facing Music' has sold over one million copies and has remained in the top five of the Billboard World Music Chart for four years solid. A superb version which still connects with new audiences more than a decade after his death.
