Modern Day Romance
WE SAY
Signed to EMI Music Publishing last year, the reaction from media and radio in particular to Jagga's first record has heightened the interest from a host of labels. Whoever gets the Hackney artist's signature will inherit some huge-sounding songs which bridge across dubstep-dance-pop audiences in an ambitious yet assured fashion. We've heard some of the tracks lined up for further down the line - 'Feel It' and 'Freaks' are among the songs we tip for hit status. Radio support for Modern Day Romance, a Pure Groove limited release, so far comes from Fearne Cotton, Zane Lowe and Huw Stephens at Radio 1, and it's on the daytime playlist at XFM. Produced by Ant Whiting (MIA), remixes for this come from from Photek and Pyramids. Currently supporting Rusko on his national tour, dates with Hype and Zinc are lined up, as are London shows which are sure to attract more keen label attendees.
