WE SAY
Friend Within and Brighton-based Kideko are UK dance music producers, each with a solid reputation in their own right. Now they’ve collaborated on a blistering track that samples the Loleatta Holloway anthem Love Sensation, most famously used by Black Box on their classic floorfiller Ride On Time. Mistajam and Danny Howard at Radio 1 were first on the case with this several weeks ago, respectively giving it Hottest Record and Future Anthem status. Then it went to No.1 on the station’s Specialist and Dance Charts, topped the Cool Cuts Chart too, and today floats just outside the UK Top 50 on Shazam, helped there by Clara Amfo’s support as her Record of the Week a fortnight ago. Now on the 1Xtra playlist and with additional spins coming from Kiss, Kiss Fresh, Capital XTRA and Rinse, alongside key profile adds on Spotify and Apple Music playlists including New Music Friday, things are further shifting up a gear. With an 808 pumping away, revel in the proper old-skool dance vibe that harks back to early House and Garage, which makes this a total party essential for the summer ahead.
