All In The Mind
WE SAY
Filled with drama and anticipation right from the opening chords, this magical song comes from Sloes, a rapidly-rising five-piece band from London who are about to release their latest EP All In The Mind. Now a Dalston basement might not be considered to be the ideal space for writing and rehearsing, but it seems that those secluded surroundings have helped the group think big with lush, heartfelt soundscapes being their ultimate goal. That aim is fully realised here, as they combine violin with indie and electronic pop sounds to create something rather unique and ambitious, all of which builds on the strong support they found with 2016’s Chasing Tales EP. That helped land them a session for Dermot O’Leary on Radio 2, and there have been recent plays for their newer track Young on BBC London and BBC Introducing. Next up, they’re performing live in London supporting Goldfrapp at Somerset House on July 9. It should prove a perfect fit. This is smart grown-up, thoughtful pop with broad appeal to anyone who's ever had love taken away from them. And it's really gorgeous.
