Wild Smiles
Girlfriend

Sunday Best Recordings

WE SAY

We last featured Wild Smiles back in July and now comes the release of the debut album Always Tomorrow (out October 27), preceded by this frenetic track, which is yet another precision-engineered slice of everything you've ever loved about rock and pop in the past 60 years, all in a two-and-a-half minute blast. Deservedly championed by Huw Stephens at Radio 1, featured in NME's On Repeat section this week and soon to be heard in an upcoming episode of E4's hit TV show Made In Chelsea, the band has also just landed an online ad sync with Honda for another of the album tracks. This video was directed by renowned rock photographer Steve Gullick, who's been snapping the lads ever since they signed their record deal. After performing recently at Bestival and the Reeperbahn festival, their next UK date is at the influential Club Psychedelia's Birthday Weekend in Southampton on October 18. These boys ensure that the punk ethos for short, snappy songs that connect instantly is thankfully still well and truly alive.
