Tchami ft. Kaleem Taylor
Promesses

Ministry Of Sound

WE SAY

With a single that’s already shaping up to be massive right at the start of the new year, French DJ-producer Tchami has been a name to watch for the past couple of years. He’s been remixing as well as creating his own original tracks, with his debut underground house cut Untrue racking up more than a million YouTube plays and here he collaborates with fresh UK vocalist Kaleem Taylor. Almost 100 plays for Promesses have come from the team at 1Xtra to date (DJ Target has been the biggest supporter there), it's huge at Kiss Fresh and it’s now been added to Radio 1’s playlist this week whilst currently sitting snugly inside Shazam’s UK Top 20 Future Hits chart (where it has featured for almost two months). Crossing over into the mainstream, the build has been consistent since it was Danny Howard’s Future Anthem and Zane Lowe’s Hottest Record at the start of October (now it's one of his hottest of the year). Minimalist, soulful and showing flourishes of inspiration from some of the greatest dancefloor anthems of the past 25 years, this looks un-stoppable in the coming weeks.
