Already finding favour at Radio 1, where the track now sits proudly on the station’s A-list, two musical worlds collide beautifully here on this great track from Rene LaVice. The bittersweet vocal of Ivy Mairi is paired with an intense drum & bass workout from the Canadian producer to create an edgy yet wonderfully accessible soundscape. Telling the tale of two lovers going their separate ways after encountering a relationship crossroads, it’s both emotionally delicate and brutally intense in equal measure. We’re delighted it’s finding support beyond specialist plays right now and being heard by a daytime radio audience. Currently residing inside the Shazam UK Top 100, there’s plenty more to come from the Toronto musician across the year, not only as an artist in his own right but as an in-demand remixer too. He plays the RAM Weekender at London’s Oval Space on March 7. Expect this to be his first crossover anthem.
