WE SAY
Since we first featured Paul Cook And The Chronicles' heart tugging lead single Candlelight earlier this year, we've found ourselves constantly revisiting his transcendent debut album - Volume 1 - and growing fonder by the listen. The songwriting throughout is exceptional, with Girl Trouble one of a number of tracks that stand out. The debutant's album was highlighted by Rough Trade as 'Album of The Week', and by Under The Radar magazine on their 'Best of 2012' digital sampler. The great news is that his prolific nature will see him release Volumes 2 and 3 in 2013. If they're as good as the first, it's unthinkable that Paul won't receive the critical acclaim that he deserves. The first two albums are produced by Paul Cook and Julian Simmons (Kimberly Anne, Guillemots, Midlake), with the singer producing and co-writing for a number of other artists at present, whilst working on songs for use in a brace of indie feature films in 2013.
