WE SAY
Recently played by Ellie Goulding on her Beats 1 radio show, Norde is the alias of Swedish producer Axel Ulfson and this is his debut single. He grew up in Stockholm with a keen interest in music from an early age and his love for electronica came into focus after moving to Boston in the USA with a stint at the prestigious Berklee College Of Music. Learning hip hop production from Grammy award winner Prince Charles Alexander (who’d worked with R&B music royalty including Notorious BIG, P Diddy and Alicia Keys) and having dabbled in pop too, producing for the likes of Betty Who and Charlie Puth, Norde is now fully focused on experimenting with his own sound as an artist, and releases this via Dirty Soul, a part of Be Yourself Music in Holland. It’s a truly great start. Reminding us sonically of the still-wonderful Latch by Disclosure, support for the track has already come via DJ’s Tiesto and Martin Garrix, it’s charted No.2 in the Spotify Viral 50 in Sweden and at No.7 in the Spotify Viral 50 worldwide. After just one play, this instantly sounds like an enormous global smash in the making.
