Singer-songwriter Mafalda is just beginning to make her mark on the music scene. Building on the success of her debut single, Don’t Let Go, the London native is releasing her stunning follow-up, Goodbyes today (3 November). Recorded in New York, the single offers a sublime dose of moody, dark pop that bristles with an upbeat nature as the chorus kicks in. It is, however, the sheer emotive and powerful vocals of Mafalda though that really grab your attention and draws you in. The track will feature in the 2017/2018 winter advertising campaign for Springfield, a leading European fashion retailer that will include a TV advert featuring the actor Miguel Angel Silvestre (Narcos, Sens8). Tastemaker support for her debut single has come from Paper Magazine, Pigeons and Planes, HillyDilly, Idolator and The 405 whilst also clocking up over 360k streams on Spotify. She has since recorded a live session with Sofar Sounds in New York and featured in Vogue and Vanity Fair. Mafalda is set to release her debut album next year and with a song as good as this we can’t wait to hear it.
