WE SAY
After their acclaimed 22-track debut album Future Perfect was released last year, a considerable buzz followed for Bristol's Loadstar. Zane Lowe picked the track Warrior as a Hottest Record In The World, the band remixed the Naughty Boy/Emeli Sande Top 10 hit Lifted and summer saw them play DJ sets to crowds at Secret Garden Party and Global Gathering. They're currently in Australia and New Zealand over the next few weeks but return to the UK soon for several dates, including a gig in Brighton on May 31. Current radio supporters include Mistajam at 1Xtra, Friction at Radio 1, Andy Durrant on Kiss Fresh and Eddy Temple-Morris at Xfm. We like this a lot - it starts with a captivating and haunting piano hook that then makes way for a classic drum & bass breakbeat, all beautifully layered throughout with an emotional vocal, full of soul and heartbreak. Fine stuff, indeed.
