WE SAY
There’s something undeniably catchy and enjoyable about this, the latest offering from New York-based pop/rock singer-songwriter Leo Sawikin. From the thumping beat to the infectious guitar lick and rich instrumentation, Born Too Late quickly sweeps you up in its hypnotic grasp. Written by the former Chordaes frontman (whom we featured in 2018) and produced by Grammy Award winning Marc Swersky, it’s the second single to be taken from Leo’s forthcoming debut solo album Row Me Away. With its late ’90s alt-rock feels tinged with Beach Boys-esque orchestrated rock-pop goodness and nods to Burt Bacharach and Carole King, Born Too Late is ripe for plays across BBC Radio 2, 6Music and Absolute, plus those anthemic alternative contextual playlists. Expansive, energetic and utterly compelling.
