At the end of March, we introduced you to Heckyl, the alias of songwriter and producer Luke Potter, and his synth-laden debut Preacher. Notion, Clout Magazine, Talk About Pop Music and more quickly praised the track for its vibrant feel. Now back with its follow up, Stranger, released last Friday (7 May), Luke shows off another side to his production and songwriting abilities with this dance-inflected pop offering. Written and produced at his Sweet Factory studio, the track is a gloriously hooky affair with its almost Kygo-esque rhythm, swirling synths and lush harmonies. Early support has come from Pop Muzik, but more are sure to follow. With another four singles and an EP primed to be released this year, alongside production work for other artists, 2021 is set to be a busy year for this talented artist.
