WE SAY
This gorgeous slice of dream pop is likely to instantly whisk you away to a sunny tropical beach this Christmas soon as you press play. CANVAS comprises of siblings Andreas and Robin Schulz (no, not that German namesake producer and remixer) and their background in hardcore bands more in tune with the US punk scene is a million miles away from the breezy, celestial groove that they’ve conjured up here. 2015 was certainly the year we heard full-on EDM spawn so many more ambient soulful offshoots and this is no exception. The boys have already created remixes for acts including Shura, Jessie Ware and Kistuné but this comes from their own original EP and features Andrew Montgomery, the former frontman of the band Geneva. There’s been much love for the project from hip tastemaker blogs including Hype Machine, Discobelle, Dancing Astronaut, Kick Kick Snare, I Love Pie, Northern Transmissions, Going Solo, and Scientist of Sound, plus nordic night Ja Ja Ja Music. Warm, welcoming and airy, wallow in its loveliness whenever festive season stresses become just a bit too much to bear.
