Already riding high in the Billboard Alternative Songs chart at number 3 and number 4 on the Alternative Radio chart with the original version of The Best, AWOLNATION is back today (27 March) with this glorious reworking and collaboration. Featuring the gorgeous and distinct vocals of Alice Merton, AWOLNATION effortlessly weaves her verses into the production, further adding to the song’s dramatic flair and anthemic nature. Featuring across numerous streaming services new release programming, including Spotify and Apple Music, we expect to see this absolute gem added to numerous alternative playlists and eventually overtake the original in the aforementioned charts too. It’s sublime, and no surprise really, considering the massive success of their influential and certified Diamond track (and RotD) Sail. It’s taken from AWOLNATION’s forthcoming new album Angel Miners & the Lightning Riders in April that will surely help them build on their rather impressive 1.5bn global streams. And on the evidence of this slice of anthemic goodness, it looks like the best is yet to come.
