In Cocoon, South London duo Alpines offer an accomplished pop song, with dark electronic soundscapes supporting a compelling ghost like vocal delivery. A clear pop sensibility has attracted comparisons to the Eurythmics and Portishead. The Sunday Times said that Cocoon ‘sits confidently alongside the work of The XX’ and Nick Grimshaw has given the song a few spot plays on his Radio One show. After playing Glastonbury and touring with The Naked And Famous, Alpines play Secret Garden Party this weekend and have been asked to support CSS on three upcoming tour dates. Expect the debut album early next year. Video. PJ
