Xpatriate
The Spaces Between

unsigned

WE SAY

Expatriate are an Australian band who fit in well with that's going on in the UK right now - they sound like the fashion bands, but with better tunes. They've only been around since the start of the year but already there's a big buzz out of Australia with support from Triple J and several of the key players there looking to get involved. But for the time being, they're unsigned for records and publishing. This is from their debut Lovers le Strange EP. They wrote this for us: "Some Australian kid spends his youth growing up in south east Asia, surrounded by the sons and daughters of spies, oil magnates and diplomats. Kid finds love, loses love. Is sent back to the mother country all torn up to start again with music as the cure. Fast forward and Ben King goes into a studio with three friends to cut an ep of four songs. Out they come with a dramatic nod to new wave music." We are excited.
