WE SAY
Released today (April 8) and sounding like an instant smash from the very first minute, Tough Love return with their sights set firmly on the Top 10 here, a year since we featured So Freakin’ Tight, which spent eleven weeks in the Top 75. The production duo, comprising of Alex and Stef, followed that up with Pony (featuring Ginuwine), and they are currently hosting a weekly radio show for Kiss and Kiss Fresh. We sense that’s helped them craft their sound towards this straight-up radio-friendly nugget. Vocals here come from Arlissa, the London-based BBC Sound poll featured artist who worked with Nas when she was still a teenager. It’s a winning collaboration with her soulful voice aligning nicely with their crisp, clean production that’s dominated by a moody piano motif, before launching into a squelchy bass synth hook on the chorus. Tonight it’s their Tough Love Presents club night in London at Egg in Kings Cross. Expect this addictive pop banger to have the entire gaff moving.
