A writer and live performer with a growing reputation since his 2007 self-released debut album, Tom Hickox's 'Let Me Be Your Lover' will probably split opinion. We were won over by engrossing, intelligently assembled ballads like this – and there's no denying a distinctive voice is at work. Hickox was recently tipped by Neil McCormick in The Daily Telegraph who wrote that “his operatic baritone psychodramas sound like Leonard Cohen crossed with Antony and the Johnsonsâ€ÂÂ.
