Full of warm synths, bedroom-pop tendencies and notes of melancholia, Sad Puppy is the gorgeous debut single from 23 year old Huddersfield-based artist PENNY. Written at a time when she came to realise her value and produced by Will Serfass (aka WASSAILER), the track featured on Spotify’s New Music Friday playlist on release and has featured on numerous online sites, including The Line of Best Fit. With its dreamy and charming melodies, backed by a lulling beat, the track is a beautiful statement of intent from the West Yorkshire artist. Perfect for those Twin Peaks-esque Bang Bang Bar syncs or moody dream-pop contextual playlists, this is one sumptuous electro-pop ballad, and we can’t wait to hear the rest of her debut EP when it’s released later this year.
