Owl City
Umbrella Beach

Island

WE SAY

After ten weeks climbing the US Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart, Owl City's Fireflies last week reached the top spot, knocking off Jay Sean's hit and selling over 1m downloads to date. The project of producer and artist Adam Young, Owl City undoubtedly owes a debt to The Postal Service and Death Cab For Cutie, but with Fireflies and this UK warm-up single Umbrella Beach, he has embellished that sound with some great pop lyrics. Fireflies should be a smash when it's released in the UK next February 15. The album Ocean Eyes is out on March 1. Some UK live dates are planned around the release. JF London gig: February 18 Islington Academy N1
