Moda are fronted by 21-year-old Australian Jemimah Barnett and were discovered by Shep Solomon, who has written hits for Natalie Imbruglia, Enrique Iglesias and S Club 7 amongst others. Magnus Fiennes (Massive Attack, Seal) has co- produced and written for Moda with Solomon. An album has been completed; their broad sound crosses from shimmery mid-tempo numbers like Lonestar to glam- pop electronica reminiscent of Goldfrapp. The production is of the highest quality, as one would expect from all parties involved, and Jemimah is a star in the making. Moda are unsigned, for now. JF
