Martha Wainwright
BMFA

Drowned In Sound

WE SAY

Alert: Swearing on this track. We love Kate & Anna McGarrigle. We adore Rufus Wainwright. We cherish Loudon Wainwright III. Yet right now, we love their daughter/niece/sister Martha even more. Her three track EP is just sensational. Only a handful of artists can commit such pure, raw emotion and anguish to record (we're thinking Joni Mitchell circa Blue or Lucinda Williams circa Car Wheels, although the artist we're reminded of most is the wonderful Mary Margaret O'Hara). And we're delighted that Drowned In Sound will release this in the UK, sending a great message about the breadth and quality of what they do.
