With a forthcoming sold-out gig at London venue The Islington on November 13, it seems like the music of Marc O'Reilly is quickly finding favour since we first featured the Irishman over the summer with his dramatic track The Wayward Shepherd. This rather more sedate song shows a softer side of his work, based primarily around a rhythmic acoustic guitar riff with some beautiful piano flourishes to lift it further as he pours his heart out in a whispery falsetto. It's another cut taken from his current album Human Herdings (released back in March to much praise) and the great Jamie Cullum at Radio 2 has already pledged his love for the track on his weekly show. He recently opened up for 2014 Grammy-winning act Snarky Puppy on several of their sold-out European dates, which might seem like an odd support slot on paper, but when you hear the soul and heartfelt emotion Marc delivers by the truckload here, you'll understand. Still unsigned in the UK, expect that situation to change rapidly once you treat yourself to this delightful and mesmerising song.
