Luke Burr
Heaven

Luke Burr via Level (Warners)

WE SAY

Growing up listening to his father’s collection of old soul records by the likes of Stevie Wonder, Luther Vandross and Donny Hathaway, 23-year-old rising artist Luke Burr fell in love with soul music at an early age. Inspired by these artists, the Essex-born singer decided to embark on his own musical journey that has already seen him tour with Rudimental as their main male vocalist across Europe and Australia. His latest single, Heaven, produced by the team behind Kojey Radical, Wretch 32 and Stefflon Don, is a warm and soulful dose of gospel-tinged pop that showcases his powerful and unique vocal abilities. Tastemaker support has so far come from the likes of Apple, Spotify, Beats1, Sofar Sounds and BBC Introducing, plus interviews with Variety, Vents and Fame. Wonderland premiered his video for Heaven yesterday and next month he will be recording a Secret Sessions performance. He is currently splitting his time between London and Los Angeles where he has been busy working in the studio with renowned songwriter Toby Gadd (All of Me – John Legend and If I Were A Boy - Beyonce). Having recently played a string of sold out shows in LA, including the Peppermint Club and the Juice Joint, he will be back in London for a headline show at St Pancras Church on 16 June. An exciting new emerging soul star for 2019.
