Lizzy McAlpine
ceilings

Harbour Artist & Music/AWAL Recordings

WE SAY

23 year old American singer-songwriter Lizzy McAlpine has been wooing fans and listeners alike with her beautiful song, ceilings. Taken from her second studio album, five seconds flat, released last April, the track has had an impressive start to 2023. Having garnered extensive Best of 2022 year-end coverage from likes of NPR and Consequence, as well as praise from Rolling Stone, Dork, Clash, Tape Notes, Notion and Wonderland and more for her album, the track picked up a natural uplift at the start of the year at streaming and on TikTok. Capitalising on this bounce, Lizzy and the team at AWAL and Harbour Artist & Music have been working with relevant partners to help fuel discovery and consumption. It has seen the track climb to no7 in the Official Charts (two weeks in Top 10) after spending a second week at on BBC Radio 1’s A-list, following stints on the B and C-List. At Spotify in the UK, it peaked at no5 in Spotify’s Daily Top 200 and Daily Viral 100, and reached no10 in the Weekly Top 200. This week, the song features on the cover of Spotify’s Hot Hits UK and is set to amass 100m streams. It’s a remarkable journey for a gorgeous song that has also just debuted in the Billboard’s Top 100 last week and saw her perform on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Later this month, Lizzy will be in the UK for promo, including a performance on Sunday Brunch, and will then be back for her sold out UK tour in June that includes two shows at the O2 Forum Kentish Town. Now for any strange reason, if you haven’t yet listened to ceilings, we highly recommend you take 3 minutes out of your schedule to give it a spin, and then another 42 minutes for the rest of the album.
