WE SAY
This bubbling, vitamin C laced dash of optimism is from Cambodian-born, Seattle-based twins Kelly & Kyle. The multi-instrumentalist brothers produce smooth-out soul funk that has hints of Pharrell doused with sprinkles of the gospel from their pastor father’s church and a touch of Tai Verdes to their sound. Lovely is the debut single from their debut EP of the same name that has already received tastemaker support from the Independent, Amazing Radio and Wonderland Magazine, which is also running an interview with them later this month. With a sound that is ripe to celebrate the last days of summer (and perhaps the arrival of rain here in the UK), Lovely is a confident party track deserving of airplay on 6 Music, Radio 1 specialist shows and any alternative mood booster playlists at DSPs.
