WE SAY
Released yesterday (11 October), ‘Wasted’ is the latest hook-driven offering from Kansas native katie MAC. Produced by Joe Pepe (ian diorr, Sam Short, sad alex), the track is an intoxicating blend of alt-pop with a sprinkle of pop-punk guitars. With enough earworm hooks to keep you happy, ‘Wasted’ deserves to be added to pop/new pop playlists at DSPs, alongside spins at Radio 1. With over 30k views and 1k shares on TikTok prior to release, the song is taken from her upcoming EP ‘Emotional Gymnastics’ out in early December. Her previous music has seen her go viral on TikTok with ‘Not My Ex’ and pick up tastemaker support at Spotify (NMF, Pop Right Now, Fresh Finds Pop) and online at blogs, including Earmilk and Lefuturewave. One to watch.
