You can’t accuse us of being late to the party on Jack Savoretti. We first featured his debut single Without back in August 2006, when the young singer songwriter was being compared to his peer Paolo Nutini. Now with a new record deal, Jack’s about to release his fourth album, the rather excellent Written In Scars, which has been picking up great reviews across Q, Uncut, The Independent and Clash. Most of the dates on his upcoming UK tour next month are already sold out and it all culminates with a show at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire on March 4. This song sits proudly on Radio 2’s B list right now, where he’s already seen huge support from key names such as Chris Evans, Sir Terry Wogan and Dermot O’Leary, all of whom have featured him in session recently. At last, people seem finally to be connecting to his genuine talent and soulful, passion-filled voice, not just here in the UK but Europe-wide and beyond. After slogging away for almost a decade, Jack’s back and it finally feels like this is his year of glory.
