Hercules & Love Affair are a New York collective (described elsewhere as a 'euphoric disco project') headed up by producer and DJ Andrew Butler. He's joined here by Antony Hegarty (Antony And The Johnsons) on vocals and other NY arts scene collaborators on their forthcoming album on DFA include Nomi and Kim Ann Foxman. The Sun's Jacqui Swift is among those tipping Hercules & Love Affair for success this year, saying it 'sounds like classic Chicago House with a modern-day New York vibe'. One of the best dance albums we've heard in a long time, it's packed with inventive twists on disco and house. JF
