With countless key tastemakers including Trevor Nelson, Mistajam, Huey Morgan at 6Music and Xfm's John Kennedy already singing the praises of Harleighblu, it's time for the rest of us to now sit up and pay attention too. This third single from her 2013 album Forget Me Not is featured here in two versions. There's the one that the team at BBC Radio 1Xtra have been championing featuring an extra rap verse from Klashnekoff that's had more than 15 plays to date, whilst the original mix is featured in the video. Additionally, remixes on the single come from Lost Midas and Seyr, with whom she is currently working on a new electronic EP. So far in 2014 this Nottinghamshire girl continues to consolidate and build on her big following in France and plays several dates at notable jazz venues and festivals in the coming weeks. Back home, catch her at the Isle Of Wight festival this weekend as well as Glastonbury and Bestival plus a London gig at Dalston's Roof Top Party on July 5. Musically the spirit of Amy Winehouse blends memorably with influences like Lauryn Hill and Erykah Badu to create something very special indeed. It's hip-hop/nu soul but with a twist that could only come from a British act that's absorbed everything around them and translates it beautifully on record. Right now, she's got the world at her feet.
