WE SAY
We’ve been seriously impressed with US bedroom-pop act girlhouse, aka Lauren Luiz, this year, having featured two tracks from her debut the girlhouse ep. It’s not only us tastemakers like Earmilk, the Line of Best Fit, Under the Radar, Steve Lamacq (6 Music) and Jack Saunders (Radio 1) have all sung her praises, while Spotify and Tidal have both featured her tracks across editorial playlists. Now back with her second track from her the second ep, Lauren shows a more confident tone as she sings about moving on after a car crash. Written and produced with Casey Chen, who goes by the artist name Tyzo Bloom in his home studio in Highland Park, CA, the pair have cooked up a wonderfully warm and captivating alt-pop delight that exudes a smooth and tranquil direction from start to finish. Notion, Dummy, Alexrainbird, Clout, Songwriting Mag, The Most Radicalist, and Gig Goer have featured the track, along with placements on editorial playlists at Spotify (Lorem, All New Indie, NMF). All in all, if you are not aware of girlhouse, you should be, a bedroom-pop star in the making.
